This is a 4 day preparation week and 2 days of exams with an external examiner.
The Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper is for candidates who have the practical and theoretical knowledge at Yachtmaster level but do not have as many sea hours as a candidate that is going for Yachtmaster Offshore.

Pre-Exam Requirements:
Age: +17
Qualifications: A GMDSS Short Range Certificate (SRC) or higher. A valid first aid certificate (www.rya.org.uk for more information)
Seatime: 800 miles logged within 10 years. 30 days living on board. and 2 Days as skipper. 12 night hours.
Holders of RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Completion Course; Seatime: 400 miles. 20 days living on board. 12 night hours. 2 days as skipper.
Half of the qualifying sea time must have been gained in tidal waters.
